Peco Spotlight: Stephen Johnston

I joined Peco’s family in 2009, moving to Tuscaloosa with my wife and five children. We adopted a sixth here. I like to picture my own family’s growth happening alongside the expansion of this strong family-owned business where I’ve invested 13 years – more than anywhere else I’ve worked.

As HR Manager, my group is responsible for supporting team members as they navigate life’s obstacles.  We walk alongside them and guide them through conflict or tragedy when it inevitably comes. As a veteran I appreciate Peco’s willingness to do the right thing. We know we have the freedom to care for our team members. The small family atmosphere empowers us to act quickly with a people-first attitude that shows our team members and communities how much we care.

Whether walking in the Heart Walk, donating canned food, hosting blood drives, educating elementary students or helping team members rebuild after a devastating tornado, Peco understands the impact of outreach and helping one another.

Peco will grow, and – through stronger education and more wide-spread communication – will help the world better understand the role poultry plays in supporting our local communities and feeding people across the globe.
