Peco Spotlight: Sharon Woods
I started with Peco as Brother Harris’s personal secretary in 1984 and transitioned to sales when he sold his part of the company to the Hickman family. Thirty-eight years later, I’m now the National Sales Manager/Customer Service Administrator and enjoy building and maintaining relationships with our customers.
My favorite thing about working for Peco is that it is a family business that prioritizes its communities and treats its team members like family. Family life is important to me, as my husband and I have two daughters and five grandchildren. I also consider Peco to be part of my family because I’ve been with them most of my life.
“From the first generation to the fourth, Peco has a great team working together to be a world-class food company. I strive to follow and lead with the motto – PAC: pride, achieve, communicate – and Peco provides the resources and environment to achieve this.” – Sharon Woods, National Sales Manager/Customer Service Administrator
Whether implementing sustainability plans or supporting team members through John Herman Hickman Foundation scholarships, Peco is preparing for the future. Generations are changing, and while it can be hard to adapt sometimes, Peco is putting plans in place to help down the road. There is a Helen Keller quote that, to me, embodies Peco’s principles, “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.”
I am looking forward to retirement someday, but for now I just want to enjoy time with my kids, grandkids and husband and establish morals in their lives that I’ve grown up with and honed all of these years at Peco.
