Peco Spotlight: Keith Dyer
Even as a young boy, I always wanted to be a poultry service technician. My father was a pioneer in the poultry industry and was head of processing for Peco before he retired after 50 years with the company. I grew up around the industry and couldn’t wait to be a part of it.
Little did I know, I would also meet my wife through Peco and have three amazing boys. My middle son followed in his grandfather’s footsteps, as he is currently the processing superintendent at one of Peco’s processing plants.
“I have worked with all four generations at Peco, and from the first to the fourth they have demonstrated the same family values and fairness.” – Keith Dyer, Live Production Manager
For the past 20 years, I’ve been the breeder manager at Peco and truly enjoy my work. It doesn’t come without its challenges but working in the poultry industry has always been my dream. Most people don’t understand the science that goes into breeding chickens and how so many pieces must align – but this challenge is what I find rewarding.
I also enjoy the relationships we form in the industry. We have great relationships with our contract producers and always have because they are our neighbors. I’ve grown up with many of them and see them day-to-day whether at church or out and about in our community. With 49 years working with Peco, I enjoy what I do.
