Peco Spotlight: Deirdre Sanford
Born and raised in Bolton, Mississippi, about 40 miles west of Canton, Peco Foods has allowed me to live closer to home and my family. I’ve been with Peco for nearly two years because I enjoy the people I work with every day. From corporate all the way down to the plant level, we’ve created a family atmosphere that you don’t see everywhere. When you are treated as a person and not another number, it makes you want to do even better, knowing your input is valued.
“As a company we recognize that people are our biggest asset. Without our people, we cannot be a successful company or produce the quality products our customers enjoy.” – Deirdre Sanford, Further Processing QA Manager
My job is to make sure we are producing the safe, quality products our company is known for. We feed people across the globe, but also in our backyard, including our families and our neighbors’ families, so we have an obligation to ensure we are prioritizing food safety and protecting Peco’s brand. Our team’s industry knowledge and insight help keep us ahead of the curve when it comes to food safety. With everchanging regulations, our experienced team can foresee what is on the horizon and proactively communicate that down to each plant, explaining what is coming and why it is important.
