John Herman Hickman Foundation (JHHF)

The John Herman Hickman Foundation (JHHF), established in 2011 and named in honor of our founder, extends Peco’s commitment to supporting team members, their children and the communities where they live.

The mission of the Foundation is twofold:

To provide aid and relief for those impacted by natural disasters in and around Peco’s operating regions
To provide scholarships for the children of Peco team members and contract producers

I’m incredibly grateful for the John Herman Hickman Foundation scholarship. It’s lifted a huge financial weight off my shoulders, allowing me to focus on my studies and future career. As a senior forest management major at Mississippi State University, I’m looking forward to graduating and contributing to the field, all thanks to JHHF’s support.

Since its founding, the Foundation has awarded hundreds of scholarships totaling millions of dollars and has provided targeted disaster relief across our footprint when severe weather and emergencies affected Peco families and neighboring communities. These efforts reflect the values that have guided Peco for generations and strengthen our focus on people, family and community.

The Foundation is a private nonprofit organized under IRS rules 501(c)(3) and is supported through individual donations and annual fundraising events such as the Alabama/Mississippi Golf Tournament, Batesville Golf Classic, Batesville Trap Tournament and Pocahontas Trout Tournament. These contributions help ensure the Foundation can respond when needed and continue providing opportunities for families connected to Peco.
